SEO for a new website starts with a separate technical launch: the site has no history in the index, no links and no behavior statistics. The same happens after a redesign or a move to a new address.

We run it as part of SEO services, with a separate first stage: ownership in the search tools, indexing, the first pages for long-tail queries and honest timelines. We work remotely.

What SEO for a new website is and when you need it

A site is new not because of its domain date but because it has no history in search. The same technical start is needed after a change of domain, address structure or page code.

If you have no site yet, it is easier to run creation and SEO as one project: see website development with SEO.

What SEO for a new website includes

Adding your site to Google Search Console

We verify ownership in Google Search Console. The usual methods are an HTML file, a meta tag or a TXT record in DNS. For a focused setup without ongoing SEO, SEO optimization is enough.

Sitemap and first indexing

Google may notice a site within a few weeks, and faster if other sites already link to it. We build the Sitemap, submit it in Search Console and watch the first crawl.

Keyword research and first pages for long-tail queries

In the first weeks, a new site can hardly compete for high-volume queries. We build the first pages around long-tail queries, which each have lower search volume, where competition is lower.

How we launch SEO for a new website

Stages of launching SEO for a new website

  1. 01

    Ownership verification

We connect Google Search Console and verify the site.

  2. 02

    Sitemap

We build the sitemap and submit it in Search Console.

  3. 03

    First indexing

We watch the crawl and remove the errors that get in its way.

  4. 04

    Keyword research for long-tail queries

We choose the first pages that have a real chance in search results.

  5. 05

    Publishing and recrawl

When needed, we send key pages to be crawled again.

  6. 06

    Monthly reporting

We pull Search Console and GA4 data into one report.

You can order the first step separately as a technical website audit.

Checking the sitemap and indexing status on a screen

Trust and E-E-A-T for a site with no history

Some of the signals of experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness are set at launch: pages with contacts and authors, structured data, security and verifiable information.

How long SEO for a new website takes: honest, with no guarantees

It is important to tell the first entry into the index apart from a noticeable effect on inquiries.

Timing benchmarks, not a guarantee

  • several weeksGoogle’s benchmark for discovering a new site in the index
  • usually 3–6 monthsnoticeable growth in impressions and clicks in our experience, not a guaranteed result
  • at least 1 yearhow long to keep redirects after moving a site

Search engines do not publish an exact processing schedule, so we promise neither a fixed timeline nor a position.

If a site lost positions after a redesign or a move

The cause is almost always technical: missing 301 redirects from the old addresses, so the robot sees two different pages. We check for a 200 code on the new addresses, update the Sitemap and send key pages to be crawled again.

With Google, recovery can take several weeks, and redirects should be kept for at least a year. If the whole design is due for a rebuild, see website redesign.

What you get and why you can trust us

We have worked in SEO since October 2018 and have optimized more than 120 sites, including moves to a new CMS or domain. We work with Search Console, GA4 and Ahrefs, and we do not use click manipulation.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a new or young site for SEO?

There is no formal cutoff by domain registration date. It is a site with no history in the index, no link profile and no behavior statistics. A site behaves the same way after a redesign that gives its pages new addresses.

How soon will a new site appear in Google?

Google says that discovering a new site can take several weeks, and it can be faster if other sites already link to it. Treat this as a benchmark, not a guarantee.

How is SEO for a young site different from SEO for an established one?

A young site has no history in the index, no links and no behavior statistics. So the first stage is technical: verifying ownership, setting up the Sitemap and checking the first indexing, and only then content optimization.

Does domain age hold back a new site?

Google's official sources do not name domain age as a separate ranking factor. The mechanics are tied to how quickly the robot first crawls and indexes the site, not to the domain's registration date.

Can I speed up indexing of a new site, and how?

Yes: a Sitemap file and the URL Inspection tool in Search Console, which has a limited quota, to ask Google to crawl key pages. Linking to the new site from other sites also helps Google find it faster.

What should I do if a site lost positions after a redesign or a move?

Check the 301 redirects from the old addresses to the new ones, check for a 200 response code on the new addresses and update the Sitemap. According to Google, recovery after an address change takes weeks, not days.

Should I promote the whole site at once or start with some pages?

It is wiser for a new site to start with a limited set of pages for long-tail queries, where competition is lower, and widen the coverage as search engines come to trust it, instead of spreading attention across the whole site.

How much does SEO for a new website cost?

We price each project individually. The cost depends on the size of the site, the niche, competition and whether the site launches from scratch or goes through indexing again after a redesign. There are no fixed packages, and the estimate is free after a short brief.

Can I start SEO if I have no site yet?

Yes. Then it is easier to run creation and SEO as one project. The technical start is included from the beginning: ownership verification in Search Console, the Sitemap and the first pages for long-tail queries. More about this format on the page about website development with SEO.
